Luke Stephen (New Orleans Birth Photography)

Labor is so unpredictable. It can take days, or mere minutes. You never quite know what you’re going to get sometimes!

Lisa’s due date passed, and she scheduled an induction. It was the day before she was going to go in – her body had already been making lots of progress, but consistent labor hadn’t started. For their last evening of being a family of three, Chris and Lisa went out on a date. It turned out to be one of the most eventful dates ever! Around 7:30 labor started fast and furious! I got a text that they were headed to the hospital, and less than an hour later, I got another message – baby is here! What?! I was on my way home to grab my camera bag and head to the hospital.

Not even all the grandparents had arrived when we made it there. Things went so fast!

Chris came out to make the boy/girl announcement, and then had to wait for a few more important people to arrive before he could say anything! Definitely torture!

At 9:53, little Luke Stephen was born!

It was getting late, so I decided to come back the next day to get a few more of this sweet family when everyone was a little more rested.

Chris and Lisa – we are so blessed to have you as dear friends! Luke is precious, and it makes me so happy to know our kids will grow up together like their dads did. 🙂
