New in 2016… Baby, Instagram, Products and More!

It has been a busy start to 2016, so although we are now more than halfway through the month, I feel like I’m really just getting into a groove with the new year! 2016 will be full of exciting things for our family, and NOLA Birth Photographer, so I thought I would share a little of what’s to come!

First of all, I’m expecting our rainbow baby in June! After going through a miscarriage last June, I was so looking forward to being pregnant again. Although we soon had another positive pregnancy test it took a little while longer to bond with baby this time. But this pregnancy has been wonderfully smooth, and baby is growing strong at 20+ weeks now! Our kids are really excited about having a baby, and my oldest is coming up with all kinds of name possibilities. She knows that mom and dad have a hard time in that department, so she’s helping out and making us laugh along the way. Throughout the spring, you’ll see a blog series “Preparing for Birth”, full of all the things that I’m doing along the way to help my body and baby toward a peaceful and healthy birth experience! I hope to introduce you to some awesome birth professionals, and let you see what this crunchy pregnant mama is up to.

Are you on Instagram? Now NOLA Birth Photographer is too! Follow me at nolabirth! I’m hoping I’ll be a little better at updating over there than I have been on facebook, since Instagram is my happy place!

With the start of the new year, there are also some adjustments to what I’m offering my clients! I love creating custom birth storybook album for my clients. It’s a beautiful way to lay out the story of your birth in one place, and preserve these memories in print. Just thinking about all the images that I have stored on hard drives and online can send me into a panic attack! As a new mom, getting things done can be a challenge, and selecting images and ordering a photo book for yourself can be overwhelming. Creating a custom album design for my clients ensures that those treasured images are accessible and in a safe place for you to relive the day, and one day share with your baby as he or she grows. A new alternative to the storybook album is the keepsake image box, which includes a 4×6 art print of each image from your birth, stored in a beautiful image box. More details on that are coming soon! Digital files will no longer be included in the birth experience package, but are available as an add-on with a storybook album, or keepsake box.

I have so many births and fun sessions to share from 2015, so be sure to like our Facebook page and follow on Instagram to get updates as I whittle away at my blogging list!
