Birth is fascinating to me. I love reading about it, talking about it, and learning more along the way! As a birth photographer, on many occasions I’ve seen moms that just need some encouragement, and extra help as they manage the difficulty of labor. This was extra motivation for me to get further training to be able to help them! I love being a resource for my clients, and welcome questions during pregnancy, labor, and the first hours of their baby’s life earth side. In 2013 decided to pursue further training to become a birth doula, and I’m now a certified doula with DONA International.
Doulas aren’t just for moms who are seeking a natural birth. Doulas are a great resource to help you achieve your desired birth experience – no matter what kind of birth that is. A doula doesn’t provide clinical services, but instead supports an expecting woman and her partner with information, as well as emotional and physical support throughout the birth process.
My doula services include:
- 1-2 prenatal visits to prepare for working together in labor
- Phone and email support throughout your pregnancy and early postpartum
- Access to my book and video library, as well as a resource list
- Labor and birth support until about 1.5 hours postpartum
- Timeline of labor
- 1 postpartum visit
If you’re interested in learning more, please contact me! My fee is $750 for doula support. Birth photography may be added on to doula support at a discounted rate. I’m now accepting doula clients for Spring/Summer 2018.
